The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for developing and leading a comprehensive Facilities and Preventative Maintenance (PM) Program. This role must understand plant equipment to create policies and procedures that protect and sustain Spartan Motors assets, while assisting the daily operations of maintenance personnel to meet individual, team, and plant goals.
o Ensure the team has all required safety training for all tools & equipment
o Identify plant conditions and support/lead project planning to remedy safety risks
o Ability to research and create concise PM procedures and auditing procedures
o Review, prioritize, and distribute Work Orders with the Maintenance team
o Monitor work progress of PM and Work Order repairs performed by SFA personnel or contract personnel (as appropriate) to meet completion dates.
o Work directly with Mfg Engineers to provide project inputs for materials and labor
o Effectively use verbal and written communication at all levels of the organization.
o Maintenance Goals and Metrics
o Lead the team goals to support the plant goals of: Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost
o Provide updates on weekly/monthly metrics (i.E. PM and Work Orders)
o Assist in maintaining work schedules and coverage
o Complete team member reviews and create personal development plans
o Conduct or schedule team training on PM, repair, and maintenance related topics
o Initiate process improvement and support 5S in work area and with team
o Foster teamwork and ensure effective working relationships are maintained
o Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment and facility assets
Proven knowledge of maintenance concepts, practices, and procedures
Hydraulics, 110v-480v electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical knowledge required
3 to 5 years of maintenance experience including basic tool service and repair
Computer skills required- MS Office products, ability to interpret blueprints and drawings, some CAD preferred
