The role of the Manufacturing Manager is to successfully achieve high performance results related to corporate Key Performance Indicators (KPI's). The Manufacturing Manager plays a critical role in Company's "Road to Success" Vision Plan with responsibilities spanning all of the strategic elements including; People, Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Communication. The Manufacturing Manager creates the tone, work pace, and the culture for his/her area of responsibility. This position leads and directs the activities of a large portion of annual costs and is a significant contributor to company profitability
Administrative Responsibilities - Manage staff alignment for each employee/team. Ensure proper work schedule resides in TimeIPS for each employee. Approve TimeIPS payroll by required cut-off time. Perform employee discipline actions as required. Communicate staffing needs and changes to HR daily. Perform daily safety walks and update 6S score sheet. Ensure MHPU data is loaded into the system quarterly each day.
Team Leadership - Communicate daily team goals and present performance to team. Challenge the team to exceed expectations and reinforce WIIFM. Celebrate team success, say thank you every day. Organize and facilitate process improvement Kaizen events. Guide teams to winning the 6S monthly banner. Champion MPO defect corrective action initiatives.
Staff Development - Perform evaluations for all Group Leads, Team Leads, and Team Members. Determine staff competency performance gaps. Train-up employees to ensure each worker is competent in their role. Teach Lean/6S process. Provide opportunity for continuous learning of new management skills.
Business Development - Embrace new product introductions. Participate in budget development. Have a 90 day rolling action plan for process improvement and labor reduction. Have a 90 day rolling action plan for material cost reduction. Have a 90 day rolling action plan for quality improvement initiatives. Have a 90 day rolling action plan for increasing growth in 25% increments. Spend time each month researching industry best practices.
Reporting - Present MPO/Warranty performance daily to visual boards. Present MHPU performance daily to visual boards. Present Power Team Margin performance to Division/Team weekly. Present schedule attainment performance daily to visual boards. Report on action plans at monthly management meeting. Report on safety performance daily to visual boards. Report on using the picking program. Report on inventory performance to purchasing.
Procedure Responsibilities - Owner of value added Standard Work. Owner of procedures for 6S. Owner of division daily shutdown actions. Owner of PM program for equipment within division. Owner of division/team employee training.

Job Qualifications and Education
Bachelor degree or equivalent or combination of demonstrated experience and education preferred.
